World of Warcraft Machinima!

Ludology & Gameplay

Our final assignment for the Ludology & Gameplay module was awesome! We were told to create a Machinima video using World of Warcraft (WoW)!

If you don’t already know, Machinima is the use of real-time 3D computer graphics rendering engines to create a cinematic production (according to Wikipedia anyway!).

As with the board game, we were more or less given free reign to come up with anything we wanted. It had to be around 5mins long, should be based on something topical & we had to create it in teams of 3. The main point of the exercise was to make the videos go viral & provoke a reaction from their respective communities.

Again I teamed up with Fabrizio & Bernhard as we worked really well together on the board game. We threw a few ideas around at the start but in the end we all agreed Bernhard’s idea was just crazy enough….to recreate the music video for Rammstein – Rosenrot…which is completely in German!!!

It was great fun recording the video as we managed to get some classmates to stand in as extras & some of the stuff we got up to was hilarious! It was cool for me personally as I had never played WoW & had to figure it out fairly quickly.

Anyway, our final video is below, with the link to the original below that. Enjoy!

Board Game Artwork

The creation of the artwork for our board game was shared equally among myself, Fabrizio & Bernhard. Below is the card artwork that I created & the final box art which was a collaborative effort between all three of us. Enjoy!
